IslandWorks Precision Intake for Porsche 964 and 993

Product Overview:

The IslandWorks Precision Intake V3 is a complete intake system for Porsche 964 and 993 engines, developed around a large-volume resonance plenum, drive-by-wire throttle control and proper integration of the engine’s vacuum, fuel and wiring systems.

Rather than adapting a later GT3-style intake and solving the remaining installation details separately, the V3 is designed as a complete package for the air-cooled engine.

Integrated Vacuum System

The vacuum reservoir and vacuum system are integrated directly into the plenum.

This removes the need for separate reservoirs, brackets and additional hoses elsewhere in the engine bay, while providing vacuum for functions such as the brake system and resonance flap.

Integrated Harness Routing

The V3 includes dedicated routing and mounting points for the engine harness, including wiring for:

• Knock sensors
• Crankshaft position sensor
• Cylinder head temperature sensor

This keeps the wiring secured and largely hidden underneath the intake instead of leaving connectors and harness sections loose around the engine, as is common with many adapted GT3 intake installations.

Large-Volume Resonance Plenum

The large common plenum is designed to support higher-displacement engines while maintaining an effective resonance system.

This is particularly beneficial for 3.8, 4.0-litre and other enlarged air-cooled engines, helping support strong mid-range torque while retaining sufficient airflow capacity at higher engine speeds.

Drive-by-Wire Throttle Control

The electronic drive-by-wire throttle allows a modern ECU to manage throttle position and idle control directly.

Benefits include more stable cold and hot idle, improved low-speed drivability and more precise throttle control on highly tuned engines.

The V3 intake is available in two executions:

1. Complete IslandWorks Precision Intake V3

   Includes the IslandWorks upper plenum, lower manifolds and fuel rails, with integrated vacuum system, resonance system, harness routing and fuel-system provisions.

2. GT3 Plenum Conversion Version

   Uses a cast aluminium Porsche 996 GT3 plenum together with IslandWorks billet runners, lower intake components and fuel rails to adapt it to a Porsche 964 or 993 engine.

The complete IslandWorks V3 offers the highest level of integration and has been designed specifically around the air-cooled engine.

Fuel System Integration:

The IslandWorks fuel rails are connected by a supplied AN-6 crossover hose routed discreetly between the cylinder banks.

Fuel supply and return also use AN-6 connections, allowing clean integration with the vehicle’s fuel system.

Notes:

• Designed for Porsche 964 and 993 air-cooled engines
• Particularly suited to larger-displacement and high-output engines
• Injectors are optional
• Uses original Porsche intake manifold seals
• Required seals: Porsche 993 110 713 01
• Incoming and outgoing vehicle fuel hoses are not included
