IslandWorks Cam Sensor Mount

The IslandWorks Cam Sensor Mount is designed for air-cooled Porsche Engines from early 2.7L up to 964 and 993 engines. This sensis is needed for when engines are converted to modern coil-on-plug ignition, where the original distributor is removed and an accurate camshaft position signal is required.

The sensor holder is CNC machined from solid 6061 billet aluminium and mounts directly to the cam tower. An original Bosch camshaft position sensor provides the ECU with an accurate camshaft reference, enabling true sequential ignition and sequential fuel injection.

The kit is supplied with a drilling template for mounting an M5 trigger bolt to the camshaft. This creates a simple and reliable reference point for the Bosch sensor while keeping the installation clean and compact.

With accurate crank and camshaft position information, a modern ECU can control ignition and injection individually for each cylinder. This allows the engine to operate with greater precision, supporting improved efficiency, reliability, longevity and performance.

A purpose-built solution for bringing modern engine management to the classic air-cooled Porsche flat-six.

The sensor holder is designed to rely on the superior sealing properties of an o-ring seal rather than the conventional flat gasket.
