Product Overview:

Conversion kit for the Porsche 964 intake to become a DBW (Drive by wire) intake based 74mm original Bosch throttle body (Sometimes referred to as 76mm). This is intended to be used either on a Porsche 964/993 or to breathe a bit more life into a classic G-model.

This is sold either with the intention to convert a Porsche 964/993 engine or to adapt and convert a 964 intake onto a G-model car (That sounds fun!).

The kit include the following parts:

  • Throttle body runner for 74mm throttle body
  • Original Bosch electronic throttle body
  • Original Bosch MAP-T-sensor
  • Resonance tube
  • Vacuum solenoid
  • connectors and hose
  • Vacuum check valve

Optional intake runners for the Porsche 911 G-model engine made out of billet aluminum, 3D milled in a 5-axis machine. The port diameter indicated in the options is the diameter of the port in the cylinder head. Please note that these are the 2-bolt designs. The 3-bolt design for the 964 type engine is also available as a separate product in the shop.

To create a bit of intimacy between you and your engine we have included a bit of DIY work for you to convert your existing Porsche 964 intake into this version. 

The intake also exists in two versions. The first one is the premium version where the throttle body runner is milled out of a billet in aluminum. This is the pinnacle of craftsmanship giving a very solid feel to the intake at a natural premium. The other version is what we at Islandworks use with all other intakes being a modified PA12 material from an industrial manufacturing process. Both options have the same performance and the same durability with the difference being the look and feel of a 5-axis machined piece as the very first thing you lay your eyes on when you open the engine decklid!

For both options the lower resonance tube is made from our usual modified PA12 in black.

The following parts will be reused from the 964 intake:

  • Rubber boots and clamps
  • Vacuum reservoir
  • The aluminum or plastic plenums
  • Resonance flap, actuator and shaft

Note: the aluminum or plastic intake plenum is not included in the kit and neither are any of the items specifically listed as excluded above.
